Did you know you could have a sizzling batch of hot homemade noodles with a solid 10 minutes of streamlined effort? You don't even need a recipe. There's a super easy 2-1 ratio; 2 parts flour, 1 part water, season with a bit of salt and bam! chewy noodles in the pot!
Shaping them is really up to you, here I tried cutting a strip of dough with kitchen scissors, boiling them, and frying them up with sweet peppers and garlic. Finally, they were glazed with a glug of soy sauce. My Mom said the noodles tasted like a take out dish. Thats right👍 restaurant quality!!
Ingredients (serves 2)
180g flour
90g water
pinch of salt
1/3 of a yellow pepper, sliced
1/3 of an orange pepper, sliced
5 cloves garlic, minced
soy sauce to taste
chili flakes to taste
Instructions
1. Mix the flour, water, and salt, bring it together into a ball. Rest the dough, after 20-30 minutes it will be worlds softer (once the flour absorbs the water).
2. Pull the noodles into the shape you want, boil a pot of water and cook the noodles for 5-6 minutes (you can taste one to check if it is fully cooked). Drain, put it back into the pot, and stir in a splash of oil to keep them from sticking together.
3. Heat up a generous layer of oil pan until it shimmers, cook the peppers until they wilt a tad, then add the garlic, once it begins to brown add in the noodles. If you want the noodles to crisp up a bit on the outside, allow them to cook for longer, otherwise, season with soy sauce and chili flakes before serving hot.
